I am obsessed with spring rolls. Every time I visit California, I have to get the spring rolls from Brodard. I get the Nem Nöôùng Cuoán Spring Rolls which usually has pork sausage wrapped in rice paper with lettuce, cucumber, carrots, cilantros, chives, daikon, and mint served with their house special sauce. However, I usually get mine with noodles and take out some of the veggies. They also have this crunchy wonton stick in their rolls. Their sauce is my favorite part. My mom has tried to figure out how to make the sauce, but we can never put it together. If you guys are in California, you need to try Brodard in Garden Grove, California. You will not be disappointed.
Nekko: 32251 Mission Trail G6, Lake Elsinore, CA 92530
So many local places that I grew up going to and Nekko is another one of my favorites. Nekko used to be called Kokoro. I always want to eat sushi and have random sushi cravings. When I go to Nekko, I will order the Shrimp Crunch Roll and the California Beach Roll.
The Shrimp Crunch Roll has Shrimp, Tempura, Crab, and Crunch. The California Beach Roll has baked scallops on top of a California Roll. I also ask for Eel Sauce on the side because I like to dip my rolls in that over soy sauce. Their lunch special is also really good and worth trying. If I get the lunch special, I usually order the beef teriyaki, sometimes salmon.
There garlic flavored buffalo sauce all over my fingers. I can’t stop eating one of my favorite wings in the worlds. Okay, they are chicken strips but same thing. I am obsessed!
All I have to say about this place is their Garlic Breadsticks and Garlic Mild Chicken Tenders are the most delicious items you can eat there. Honestly, everything is amazing but when I go I order the Garlic Mild Chicken Tenders. The Sweet Chili sauce is also good.
Golden Spoon has been my local frozen yogurt spot since I was a little kid.
Los Jiberto’s Taco Shop: 23971 Clinton Keith Rd, Wildomar, CA 92595
Los Jiberto has always been a local joint growing up as well. I usually get the Bacon Breakfast Burrito. I love this burrito the most because there is no grease within the burrito. Also, the cheese compliments the burrito.
You can go grab lunch at Los Jiberto’s and then grab a treat at Golden Spoon because they are in the same shopping center!
It is Mung Bean Sticky Rice. I also grew up eating this many times for breakfast. It is kind of hard to explain what it tastes like so I guess you just have to try it. Danny tried is and actually likes it.
Banh Mi & Che Cali Bakery: 15551 Brookhurst St, Westminster, CA 92683
My next favorite food to eat is Banh Mi. My parents always go to Little Saigon somewhere in Orange County or Westminster. And whenever we go, I crave Banh Mi Dac Biet. It consist of various Vietnamese cold cuts, pate, and vegetables like pickled carrots and daikon, cilantro, and jalapeños.
My obsession with ice cream continues to GROW! I don’t know why, but I’ve been having this huge ice cream craving for months. I think it’s because I’ve been working at the creamery and I get to sample the different ice cream flavors.
Anyways, the other night Danny and I ate dinner at WingStop and decided we wanted to explore before heading back to my sister’s place. Inside Skup has been on my bucket list since finding them on Instagram. I insisted we try Inside Skup as our second location during our trip.
I didn’t know what to order when we walked in. I remember seeing all their cool pictures on Instagram! We looked at all of the options and decided to get the beachcomber. It’s a creamy ice cream base with pop rocks! It tasted just like FRUITY PEBBLES!!! Perfect for those who LOVE fruity pebbles! Once I tried the beachcomber, I knew that was the ice cream I wanted. Danny decided to get the beachcomber ice cream sandwiched between two cookie monster cookies. I decided to go with the waffle cone with chocolate and fruity pebbles around it.
Talk about a sugar rush for the both of us! It was so worth it! I definitely recommend trying Inside Skup.
Comment with your favorite treat from Inside Skup if you’ve been there already!
Danny and I arrived to California last night. You know what that means!!! We needed to try a new place during our trip and what better place to try than an ICE CREAM place!!!
My parents wanted all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ for lunch today. When we headed towards the restaurant, I saw Afters Ice Cream! I’ve been following Afters Ice Cream on Instagram for awhile! Since the wait for Korean BBQ was an hour long, Danny and I decided to try Afters Ice Cream. When we got there, my sister recommended the cookie monster and cookie butter ice cream. Both flavors tasted good but we decided to get the cookie monster with Oreos as our topping. The ice cream was soft, smooth, and decadent. I highly recommend getting the cookie monster or cookie butter flavored ice cream!
